For some years, I have gradually made a number of paintings, especially of American cars and most recently, of old race cars, which drive on the beach to Rømø Motorfestival.
My fascination of paintings, which look like a photo, has led me to gradually develop my skills with watercolor on cardboard, to what I find fascinating about a personal painting! Here I try to bring out the personal in the picture, ie the small faults, defects and perhaps small damages the vehicle has received over the years which may give just the patina that makes it unique.
A photo can be enlarged and hung up, but that does not make the picture exciting, but more “a big photo” on the wall. But an exciting painting of the photo, where the subject is in focus, will be a memorable and personal thing that can be enjoyed for many years. And who sits and look through old photo albums to find just “the photo” that brings out the memories!
I hope you will enjoy looking through my pictures, either as inspiration, or idea for what you would like, or just as curious for another kind of decoration for an empty space on the wall…
